We are a vertical textile group operating since 1981, located in northern Portugal, with 3 full-service garment manufacturers in Braga and Barcelos – Gabritex, ALEC Garments, GBTX - a fabric knitter and a seamless unit - JWay.
We focus our expertise in delivering quality garments by premium service, manufacturing with sustainable processes and ethical practices, serving a wide range of market segments - from new-born to adult, in fashion and ready to wear, sports and technical, in both woven, seamless and circular-knits fabrics - exporting globally, and assisting our clients and partners throughout the whole development and production stages, from initial design up to exporting their orders.
An experienced team of over 350 professionals, working in 7 units, equipped with the latest advancements of industry 4.0, with automated sewing machinery to complement our experienced seamstresses, and high-quality in-house finished fabrics. As a team, we’re capable of being flexible in adapting to our client's manufacturing needs and challenges, while being reliable with our mutual commitments, without compromising the quality of a finished garment, that we developed and manufacture according to current sustainable standards. We achieve this by providing working conditions that are renowned in our local communities, to whom we give back through our programs of sponsorships and donations.

Since 1988, Gabritex is an integral part of the alec.group - a vertical textile group located in northern Portugal, with 3 full-service garment manufacturers in Braga and Barcelos, sewing units in the region and a dyeing house in Barcelos also.

Gabritex expertise is in the streetwear and sportswear segments, working mainly in circular knit fabrics for adult ranges - from basics and 1st layers to athleisure garments and technical sportswear. An experienced team of over 90 professionals composed by seasoned production workers and a combination of highly skilled seamstresses with advanced automated machinery.
This setup ensures a flexible, versatile and reliable partnership, providing full-service solutions in vertical manufacturing, for demanding global brands.

It was a pioneer in seamless manufacturing in Portugal since its inception over a decade ago, by producing functional and innovative garments for the underwear, shapewear, medical and sportswear segments. Its in-house expertise and capacity has helped launch global reference brands.
With a machinery setup of modern seamless looms, JWAY pioneered in knitted structures, being capable of a wide range of product designs and a varied capability for different fibers to be knitted, from synthetic and man-made to sustainable and natural ones.
